People often like to get a better idea of the kinds of exercises and equipment that we might be using during our sessions so i thought it might be an idea to show you what i use and how.

Please remember that the idea of personal training is to tailor the sessions for each individual so until we meet the below are purely examples of what i do with some of my current clients.

Key parts of the sessions we do and the equipment we use

Non - contact boxing - pads and gloves and bag

This is perhaps one of the most popular elements of our sessions. People very quickly pick up the moves and seem to thoroughly enjoy the stress relieving properties of hitting something!  This part of the training is great for improving a persons fitness, aiding weight loss and toning the upper body.

Run / walk programmes - interval timer

The run / walk programmes we use in our sessions are based on interval techniques - short and fast is the goal - I've yet to meet anyone that has not succeeded at this type of short run session - obviously as always this is optional but most people do enjoy the feeling of learning to run.  The benefits are weight loss and increased fitness

Resistance training - Bodylastics resistance bands

Resistance training has to play a part in most peoples fitness and weight loss goals - during our sessions we use a very simple yet effective set of exercises designed to strengthen and help tone the muscles of the body.  This type of training is a key part to weight loss and helps to produce a strong and lean look.

Circuit training - bodyweight and various equipment

Similar to resistance training using the bands, circuit training is designed to strengthen and tone the body - it also adds an ‘aerobic’ element to the session which will also improve a person fitness and aid weight loss.  Circuits are without doubt one of the most effective ways to exercise - a firm favourite that produces excellent results.

Core and flexibility - Vew do board, fit ball and body weight

Another essential part to fitness is good flexibility and core strength.  By focusing on this type of exercise a person will improve their posture which in turn helps to prevent injury and improves the silhouette of their body.  The equipment we use challenges a person balance so the sessions are fun as well as effective.
