Relaxation and flexibility sessions:
These sessions are in two parts - the first is a simple set of stretches and slow controlled movements that will see you increasing quite quickly in your flexibility. This stretch session is designed to be enjoyable - so no twisting into uncomfortable positions or demanding routines.
We take some of the more accessible parts of Tai Chi, yoga and more mainstream stretch classes and blend them into a short easy to learn routine. The benefits of good flexibility are quite straight forward but having good flexibility can also protect you from sprains and pulls, not to mention relieve sore and aching muscles.
The second section of this session is designed to aid relaxation and like all the activities is completely optional. We feel that a healthy body needs a healthy mind and therefore we do promote various ways to reduce stress and aid in general relaxation. You won’t be sat somewhere chanting so please don’t worry - the techniques we show people are just a nice way to take a few minutes to relax and past guests have commented how beneficial they were as a way to finish the day.
BENEFITS: The biggest benefit is in a persons sense of well being - past guests have been sceptical but have often surprised themselves how much they have enjoyed these sessions.
Balance and core stability sessions:
Another key to good health we feel is linked to what is known as core stability and
balance training.
We use all manner of exercises and specific pieces of equipment during these sessions,
all designed to increase both your core stability and your sense of overall balance.
This type of training will feel different to most ‘normal’ sessions as it is not
designed to get you ‘out of breath’ or to ‘burn’ fat - instead it helps to strengthen
key areas of the body.
BENEFITS: Having good core stability is useful for everything from protecting the
lower back against injury through to helping performance in specific sports. The
balance element of the training can further protect against injury and make you more
efficient during exercise.
As we said earlier the exercises will all be planned specifically around the individual
that is attending so don’t worry - we will ensure that you get to do the most of
what you enjoy and only push you to an intensity that is comfortable and manageable
- we want you to feel that exercise can be fun - not just a chore!!
